The name Tajik (also spelled Tadjik, Tajek) refers a group of people who are believed to be one of the pure and close decedents of the ancient Aryans. Their country was called Aryana Vajeh and the name "Taa-jyaan" from which came the word Tajik is mentioned in The Avesta. The Zoroaster's Gathas were also directed to an Aryan audience and there are several references to this community as being situated in the "home" of the Aryans.

Ahmad Shah Massoud

Ahmad Shah Massoud was born 10.06.1332 (01.09.1953)[2] in Jangalak[3]/ Panjsher[5]as son of police commander Dost Mohammad Khan. At the age of five, he started grammar school at Bazarak and stayed there until second grade. Since his father was promoted to be police chief of Herat, he attended 3rd and 4th grade at the Mowaffaq School in Herat. He also got religious education at the so-called “Masjed-e-Jame"[6] mosque in Herat. Later his father was moved to Kabul so he attended intermediate and senior grades at the Isteqlaal School in Kabul.

Dr Abullah

Dr. Abdullah (born 1961), an Afghanistani politician, was the Foreign Minister of Afghanistan. Like many Afghanistani, he uses only one name, though he is sometimes referred as "Abdullah Abdullah".[1]Abdullah was born in Panjshir, studied ophthalmology at Kabul University’s Department of Medicine and obtained his M.D in 1983. He worked as an Ophthalmologist in Kabul until 1985, after which he worked with Afghanistan refugees in Pakistan, where he came into contact with the anti-Soviet resistance. Abdullah then joined the Panjshir Resistance Front, and in 1986 became an advisor to Ahmad Shah Massoud, who was also engaged in anti-Soviet activities.

He received an M.A degree in cinema direction from Moscow Film Institute (VGIK) in 1987.He has written a few screenplays and has made a few short films. His first feature film Osama won Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film in 2004.
